Three Action Thursday

Three Men & Their Content

Yesterday I took five Three Action Thursday readers to the Ultimate Wealth and Achievement Summit held just outside of Washington, DC. I plan on sharing some of what I learned and/or liked next week, but today I thought I would give a little background on each of the primary speakers and share some of their content.

Tony Robbins

Bio/Overview
Tony RobbinsTony Robbins has been in the personal development/self-help arena for many years. In fact, he got his start pitching seminars in the late 1970s for Jim Rohn when Tony was just 17 years old. Robbins has grown in popularity over time, and has one-on-one coached the famous and the elite. Robbins holds multiple seminars annually. These seminars include Unleash the Power Within, Date with Destiny, Life and Wealth Mastery, Business Mastery and Leadership Academy. The events are not inexpensive by any means, but are very popular and people rave about them.  In 2015, filmmaker Joe Berlinger directed and produced the documentary, “Tony Robbins: I Am Not Your Guru”. I would recommend the documentary if you are interested in learning more about him, and if you want behind-the-scenes content of one of his events.

Gary Vaynerchuk

Bio/Overview
GaryVeeGary Vaynerchuk (aka GaryVee) has grown significantly in popularity over the last five years in the realm of personal/professional development. He has a no-nonsense, tell-it-like-it-is style (and some cursing) that rubs many people the wrong way initially, but he typically wins people over if given a chance. Unlike Tony Robbins, Gary has built two successful businesses NOT centered around coaching or seminars. Gary got his start selling baseball cards as a kid, but after college he took over his father’s liquor store and drove revenue from $3 million a year to $60 million a year by utilizing the rise of eCommerce and being an early adopter of Google AdWords and YouTube. Since then, Gary has moved on to establish a marketing agency called VaynerMedia and has quickly grown to more than 600 employees and over $100 million in revenue. What is most interesting about GaryVee is that he’s built these businesses under his own magnifying glass. Gary is a prolific content provider and can be found across nearly ALL social media platforms and pushes content to YouTube daily. Two of his popular shows are #AskGaryVee and DailyVee; both shows chronicle the growth and tactics used by VaynerMedia to support its clients.

Robert Herjavec

Bio/Overview
Robert HerjavecRobert Herjavec is most famous for his role on the ABC hit show Shark Tank. However, Herjavec was wildly successful in business prior to the show. He founded BRAK Systems in 1990, a Canadian integrator of Internet security software, from the basement of his home.  BRAK Systems was sold to AT&T Canada just 10 short years later for $30.2 million. After a bit of a hiatus from business, Herjavec founded Herjavec Group in 2003, a security solutions integrator, reseller and managed service provider, of which he is currently the CEO. Herjavec Group grew very quickly and is currently doing over $125 million in revenue per year.

Out of the three speakers, Herjavec has the least content available in the realm of personal/professional development, but between his successful exit with BRAK Systems, the Herjavec Group, and his Shark Tank company investments, he is likely the one with the highest net worth and most business success.
