A Shark and the Fatzingers
I wanted to share with you some micro and macro finance content this week, and sprinkle in a few quotes that deal with friendship and time. Enjoy!
What I am Reading
Meet the Fatzingers! They are Retiring Early with a Big Family. It’s totally possible! This is an interesting guest piece on one of my favorite personal finance blogs, MadFientist. The amazing thing is this family plans to retire early and they have 14 children! They also wrote a book, Catholic Guide to Spending Less and Living More.
What I’m Watching
This is a fantastic interview done by “Meet Kevin” of YouTube fame with Kevin O’Leary, best known for being on the TV show Shark Tank. The discussion summarizes O’Leary’s view on the current state of the American economy, government fiscal policy, and its effects on the everyday American, but also (most importantly) O’Leary spits fantastic words of wisdom on the personal finance front. This is a video that you might want to watch twice!
Quotes I’m Pondering
Focus on what you are moving toward rather than what you are leaving behind.
~ Alan Cohen, American businessman
Friendship is precious, not only in the shade but in the sunshine of life; and thanks to a benevolent arrangement of things, the greater part of life is sunshine.
~ President Thomas Jefferson
You can’t turn back the clock, but you can wind it up again.
~ Bonnie Prudden, American rock climber
