The Power of Yet
I know it’s called “THREE” Action Thursday (and for a reason), but today I give you FOUR things to ponder. They’re just too good to kick one of them out. So enjoy! As always, I would love your thoughts on any of the concepts/quotes/content below.
A Concept I am Pondering
I am not 100% sure I agree with this principle. Read below and I’ll provide my thoughts under the picture.
I guess the premise is a nice one: go where you are appreciated. But sometimes you can be appreciated in “ordinary” environments. After all, isn’t this how famous musicians are often discovered?
I will agree that it behooves you to put yourself in an environment where the expectations and drive for excellence are felt by all those around you, to push you to be a top performer amongst top performers.
An example is that Joshua Bell often plays with the Philharmonic and/or the Orchestre de Paris.
Are you working around the equivalent of the Philharmonic?
Additional Concept I am Pondering
Isn’t it interesting that one word can completely change your mindset about what you are doing (or not doing)…Observe….
The Power of YET
“I don’t get it.”
“I can’t do this.”
“This doesn’t work.”
Take a deep breath. Go for a short stroll. Then add a ‘yet’ at the end of each sentence. As in:
“I don’t get it….yet.”
“I can’t do this….yet.”
“This doesn’t work….yet.”

Book I am Reading Listening To
I am currently listening to Tony Robbins’ latest book entitled LIFE FORCE. Tony is known for his incredible in-person experiences in the self-help/personal growth genre. He’s also published numerous books. In this latest book, he tackles personal health. I found it fascinating to read. Robbins takes you through the latest treatments and tests for some of the most prevalent health issues in society today; he provides a peek into the future regarding what could be possible. I found the book to be profoundly positive.
Now that I am over 40 years old, health and longevity are taking up a lot of my attention. Like many people, I have a few health issues that put a drag on my everyday quality of life. I have already implemented a few things from the book already. A couple quick examples: DEXA Scans and additional blood tests, all of which have given me either peace of mind or some things to work on.
I’d recommend the book. Consider buying one for your doctor, and then jump into some of the tests that you think are appropriate for your situation. Some of these tests are even covered by insurance.
