This is Why We Are Lonely!
Last month I invited you to jump in on the next three books the Three Action Thursday Community was planning to read. I made it through the first two, and here I am with my take on the third book, Tribe: On Homecoming and Belonging by Sebastian Junger. My book summary in two sentences: This book is about how humans relate to each other and how modern society is pulling us away from our “tribal” roots, making us less connected and depressed. In my mind, the book accurately describes the dynamics that lead to modern unhappiness but really only hints at things we could do to rectify it. Three Action…

You Are Called
Last month I invited you to jump in on the next three books the Three Action Thursday Community is planning to read. Here’s my take on the second book, Called to Create by Jordan Raynor. My book summary in two sentences: This book dispels the myth that unless you’re a pastor, missionary, or a church volunteer, you’re not doing God’s work. I talk specifically about our three domains of personal finance, personal/professional development, and building authentic relationships. Bummer though…they didn’t give me a video of the Q&A. Which I think was the best part. I’ll see if I can get my hands on it. Feel free to shoot me an email response with your constructive feedback. Do you agree with me Next week I’m going to go over some of my thoughts on Atomic Habits: Tiny Changes,…

Your Eyes (or Ears) Need This
Time to grow! So you read these emails each week…GREAT! I appreciate it, but they are only going to get you so far. It’s important that we keep growing and learning about what it means to improve in our three domains of personal professional development, personal finance, and building authentic relationships. A great way to expand our knowledge base is through reading (or listening) to experienced individuals who have wisdom to share with us. To this end, I thought I’d share the next three books I plan on reading. Typically I recommend books to our 3AT Community that have had a significant impact on my life and how I personally…
