Three Action Thursday

Let’s Read Some Books!

NO FLUFF this week. It’s all about BOOKS.

If you are a person with a growth mindset you should be reading/listening to 4-6 non-fiction books a year (MINIMUM).  And below I tell you why you should read them.

PERSONAL FINANCE

David Bach & Paul SjobergDavid Bach’s books have changed the trajectory of my life and ultimately my family legacy.

A pretty strong statement, huh?! I got one of his books when I was 21 years old. I had a burgeoning interest in personal finance and his book “Automatic Millionaire” is what put me and my wife on the path to becoming multi-millionaires. And ultimately it also is what started my thirst for constantly striving to be a better person than I was the day before. Oh and did I mention that I got to meet David last year and tell him this story in person?!? Such a cool experience!!

If you are in a serious relationship, married, or would like to be one day. I encourage you to read David Bach’s “Smart Couples Finish Rich“. David’s got a new version of this book, in it you’ll discover the latest techniques to live a life as a couple, where your values align and your money management decisions become easier. No matter what stage of life you are in whether a newlywed, a couple planning for retirement or already retired, the book provides couples with easy-to-use tools that cover everything from credit card management to detailed investment advice to long-term care. Couples who plan their finances together, stay together!

**Action: Read one of David Bach’s finance books.**

PERSONAL DEVELOPMENT

Dave Ramsey is known for his conservative personal finance system, but lately, Dave has been pivoting slightly into the business/personal development world. If you are running a small business or a non-profit, I encourage you to read Dave Ramsey’s “EntreLeadership“.

EntreLeadership details how Dave grew his business from a card table in his house to a huge enterprise providing a TON of value and knowledge.

**Action: If you have any business aspirations read EntreLeadership.**

RELATIONSHIP BUILDING

Steve Sims has made it a career (a life really) out of being able to connect with people and ultimately help his clients live out their dreams. Some examples of what he’s done for clients: Getting married in the Vatican, being serenaded by Andrea Bocelli, and connecting with powerful business moguls like Elon Musk are just a few of the many projects he has worked on. What a cool job!?!

Steve details the very specific tactics to connect with people and how you can too in his new book called “Bluefishing“. Steve shares his practical tips, techniques, and strategies to help readers break down any obstacle and turn their dreams into reality. Here’s just a few….

  • Ask Why Three Times
  • Never be the First Call
  • Don’t be Easy to Understand, be Impossible to Misunderstand

**Action: Read Bluefishing. It’s an amazing book, tightly packed and hard-hitting.**

Hope to hear from you soon!
